Sales minus payout is a mystery until you read the settlement report line by line. Every fee, refund and reimbursement is in it, tagged by type, and most of it carries a SKU. Add your product costs and you have true profit per SKU.

Free tool: Upload a settlement report and your costs: profit per SKU and per week

Runs in your browser; the file never leaves it. Works with the flat file V2 settlement report and the Date Range transaction report.

Which report

In Seller Central, the settlement report (flat file V2) is one tab-separated file per payout. The first row holds the payout total; every other row is one money movement with transaction-type, amount-type, amount-description, amount, sku and quantity-purchased. The Date Range report (CSV) has one row per transaction with columns like product sales, selling fees, fba fees and total.

Sort every line into a bucket

Then per SKU

  1. Sum each bucket per SKU.
  2. Units sold = units on order lines minus units on refund lines.
  3. Product cost = units sold × your landed unit cost (product, inbound shipping, duty).
  4. Kept = revenue + fees + refunds + promotions + reimbursements + other − product cost.
  5. Check: all lines added together should equal the payout total in the first row. If they don't, a line type wasn't recognised.
